Inflation By Another Scheme

While prearing a new tuna can for measuring the amount of watering on the yard, I noticed a bit of difference between it and the one from a couple of years ago.

The old one was in the days of 6 oz. tuna; today's is 5 oz.
That's how we do "price dropping"!!

Yes, they've been doing this for about 2-3 years now, that I've noticed. I think the one that clued most people in was the ice cream one. It used to be by the half gallon and now it's 1.5 quarts.

Bluebell (bless their hearts) still puts a half-gallon in their half-gallons.
My Ghiradelli chocolate chips went from 12 ounces to 10 ounces a couple of years ago. But, now they have 20 ounce packages (Thanks for discovering that, Julie!)

Which would still only make 1.75 batches of chocolate chip cookies using all the "old grandma" recipes that are circulation. These food corporations are messing with the bedrock of civilization here...
