Our Tree Is Decorated

Our friends Mike and Sandra and their son Aaron came over today, so Aaron could help decorate our tree since they will be travelling and decided not to put up their own.
They did a nice job!

Three Girls A-Skyping

Danielle and Naomi came over for a visit. Since we were all up pretty early in the morning (so it wasn't too late in England), we had a Skype session with Ada and Aunt Jessica.

 Danielle really likes 'baby Ada'.

Birthday Visit

We had a nice visit from Danielle and Jenny today. Danielle picked some Nandina berries.

She got a nice collection.

Four-Wheelie Mimi

Mimi spent the weekend with her friends Candice and Terri. Terri has a pair of ATV's. Mimi drove one.

Foundation Fix

Our foundation needed some help in the form of leveling and stabilizing. So some guys came out and dug some big holes.

A bunch of big holes.

Then they put some concrete piling pieces under the foundation wall...

...and smooshed them down into the ground as far as they would go, using a hydraulic jack.

Then they used a bunch of hydraulic jacks to raise the foundation up, and propped it on some blocks and more piling pieces.

Here's the back door - before. The top corner was dragging on the frame.

Here is is after - hard to see, but it was almost perfectly aligned. No more dragging.

Remember - keep the soil next to your foundation moist (we didn't enough!)

Grandcamp Treasure Hunt

As usual, this Grandcamp started off with a "Mimi's Treasure Hunt" - always challenging and exciting.

Some of the hiding places have been used before...

... so they are pretty familiar...

...and pretty easy to find.

Later, we had 'dancing to the video tape'. This involves some falling down and crashing, of course.

Then, to wrap off the evening, there was a little exercise trampoline bouncing...

...and hanging.

As usual, we all had a great time!

Boys and Swings

After trying to crash into each other for a while, they came up with this.

Fun In Clemson

Mimi flew over first. Jenny met us on her way to work and drove Mimi to the airport.

A few days later, Pa rode over. Food stop.

There is a lovely Arkansas Visitor Center at Lake Village. It sits on the edge of the largest oxbow lake in the US.

Christopher tries out the newly arrived play house handed down from Miss Kerri.

John and Christopher rediscovered their swings which hang from the edge of the deck. They had the most fun crashing into each other.

A lot of time is spent practicing martial arts moves. What appears to be a broom is actually a sword, or some other kind of sharp weapon.

All ages participate!

Mimi and Pa's House

This is the first house we lived in after our wedding. It's a duplex. We lived there about 3 months.

Posting Order

Since I began blogging, I've made it my practice to use the blogger 'Schedule' function to keep posts in order by the date the topic occurred, rather than the date when I actually posted them.

For example, when I did some posts about our recent trip to Clemson I set the date to the time the events occurred, while we were there. This caused those posts to appear below posts about more recent events I had already done since the trip.

The problem is, some of my vast readership might miss out on those great new posts, since they appear some ways back in the postings sequence.

?

Is it better to post every new post (including past events) at the current time, so everyone is aware of the new posts, even though that makes events appear out of order?
Is this even a question worthy of asking?

Steamed Artichoke - Yum!

The real trick in eating an artichoke is making the butter and artichoke come out even.

Soccer Game

We got to see the Fireflies, Naomi's soccer team, play against the Dragon Flies. Thanks to Mimi's great idea, we began with a picnic.

A couple of Fireflies flitting around in the bushes nearby.

Naomi had her game face on.

Coach Emily did a wonderful job of directing her players to the most strategic positions...when they were listening.

Naomi did a great job of defending the goal, and doing corner kicks.

The bench was pumped up and ready to go. Especially the junior player.

Danielle and Mimi always have fun!

It was a tight game. I think the Fireflies won. Notice who is first through the after-game parents' high-five gauntlet...

Leaving Ada

Our final day in Yatton was mostly about getting ready to travel and spending last moments with Ada and Jessica and Mark.

 Ada spent time playing with her butterfly thingy - she likes trying to catch it as it flies by.

 We had time for breakfast.

 Ada was learning the "whoops, I accidentally threw something on the floor" game.

 Who, Me???

 Jessica drove us to Bristol, where we caught the National Express coach to Heathrow. The rear view mirrors on the coaches make them look like big bunnies

The trip home was (thankfully) smooth and uneventful.
We're ready to go back!

Bath Time

Ada loves bath time. And she loves her Seal Bath Tub.

 Rubber duckies are fun.

 Of course, any bath toy is worth trying to fit into your mouth!

Ada Visits Cadbury Hill

It was a rainy day, but we all decided it was a good time for Ada to see Cadbury Hill (which is a short walk from home.)
But first, Mark showed Ada his walking hat, which she found to be extremely frightening (Mark had already removed the hat by this photo.) Of course, Mimi showed extreme sympathetic...

We all got suited up for the trek. Ada was sporting her classy trash bag raingear.

The North Approach is a wide, grassy slope.

From the top, we have a lovely view of Yatton Village and the surrounding countryside.

After a while, Ada was feelilng famished, so she re-energized on carrot crisps.

She was feeling pretty satisfied after her walk.
