Happy Birthday, Mimi!
This was actually the day before, but it was so exciting to harvest fresh onions from the overripe ones we planted last fall that we counted it as part of birthday.

Hooray! Looks like a good day. How was the pie? I see you made meringue rather than cream. Did you use my recipe?
Yes, it seemed to be.
The pie was a mashup of your recipe and Better Homes & Garden. (Plus secret ingredient - one Ghiradelli's chocolate chip.)
It took two tries to get the meringue to work.
I'm not a meringue fan, which is why I swapped it for the cream. But since I'm not a fan, I never make it, so I think it would be hard to do.
